When I attended business school in 2001, there was a big hype on how dot com companies would change the way people lived their lives. You name it and there was a dot com company that promised to deliver that service. That was then. Welcome to the new world of web 2.0 today – where practical and cool services are emerging and people are actually using them.
Eventful – Here is one of many useful web 2.0 applications that is changing the way consumers, end-users are taking control. With Eventful, people are taking the lead in demanding and getting the events that they want at the places they want. This is a true Web 2.0 application where users create the content. This also provides event organizers an idea on the types of turnout they can expect.
This has been a very useful tool for politicians. As of today, 57,609 people are demanding Barack Obama rally in their home towns. Political event co-ordinators are leveraging on Web 2.0 and tools like eventful.com to plan their campaign stops. In another instance, RonPaul raised over 5 million dollars in a single quarter with help of various web 2.0 tools. As Web 2.0 applications mature and the popularity grows, the way Political campaigns will be co-ordinated and managed in the future will be widely influenced by these tools.
Some other useful Web 2.0 applications:
twitter, timedriver, everyblock, flickr, stumbleupon, revver, flexcar, hipcal, sixapart, vizu, Gcast, skobee, quicktoons, ksolo, work, grandcentral

Yes, at first I thought Web 2.0 was another big hype. Until very recently I changed my perception after testing out stumble upon, digg and all the other stuffs.
However, it’s going too fast for anybody to catch up. What’s your take on that? Do you know of any place that list down all the latest Web 2.0 developments or Web 2.0 websites?
Thanks
Edmund
Here is a fairly comprehensive list of Web 2.0 companies

Right now I think that this web 2.0 sites are losing the buzz they once had.
Maybe we should wait for the web 3.0 sites buzz.
